An aqueous solution of 10% USP povidine iodine (1% available iodine). Povidine iodine is an organic iodine complex in general use over 25 years as an antiseptic under such trade names as Betadine (Purdue Frederick Co.), Clinidine (Clinipad Corp.), etc. It is effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms and has a good shelf life. SURGICIDE is applied without dilution and is applicable for minor wounds, abrasions and lacerations.
