Wright’s stain is used for the differential staining of blood smears and bone marrow aspirates. Traditional Wright’s stain is a solution of lightly oxidized methylene blue in methanol and glycerine. Most commercially available products also contain Giemsa stain which intensifies the staining. Our buffered Wright’s stain (Catalog # 929A) is a Wright’s stain with a proprietary buffer incorporated into the stain that eliminates the second staining step.
