Unifix is a solution of reagent alcohol, zinc sulfate, low viscosity polyvinyl alcohol, acetic acid and glycerine in water. It is an in-vitro diagnostic reagent intended to be used as a fixative for parasites in stool. The Unifix stool collection kit is a single vial system that consists of a 30 ml stool collection vial half-filled with the fixative. It provides a standardized method for untrained personnel to properly collect and preserve stool specimens for the detection of helminth larvae and eggs, protozoan trophozoites and cysts, coccidian oocysts, and microsporidian spores. A permanent stain and concentration procedure may be performed from a Unifix preserved specimen. It is also compatible with immunoassay procedures. The half-filled vials are sold in a box of 100 vials (catalog # 2804-05) or in boxes of 80 with each vial individually wrapped in a bag with a ten language instruction sheet (catalog # 2804-05-WB). It is also available in multi vial kits.
Catalog # 891-10 contains Unifix, clean vial and C&S vials.
