EA-50, EA-65 and Gill’s EA are Papanicolaou counterstains used in cytology. EA-50 and EA-65 were the original stains used in Papanicolaou staining while Gill’s EA is a later modification that omits the Bismarck brown Y in the earlier versions. These items are manufactured in the United States by Medical Chemical Corp.
